Diamondbacks outfielder Eric Byrnes left Monday night's game against the Brewers at Chase Field after straining his left hamstring while trying to steal third base in the second inning.

Eric Byrnes is eligible to come off the 15-day disabled list Wednesday, but don't count on seeing the D-backs outfielder in the lineup, at least for the next few days. "He will not come off here, much to his chagrin," Arizona manager Bob Melvin said, referring to his team's stay in New York that runs through Thursday.
