D-Backs drop Reds in opener

The calendar might have flipped, but the Diamondbacks went about their business on Opening Day in Cincinnati as if nothing had changed, following the same dance routine that won them 90 games last season and carried them to within four wins of the World Series.
Initial lineup offers no surprises

There were no major surprises in the Opening Day lineup posted by D-backs manager Bob Melvin. Center fielder Chris Young and second baseman Orlando Hudson were in the first two spots, and after thinking early in the spring that he would hit first baseman Conor Jackson third and left fielder Eric Byrnes fourth, Melvin flipped the pair.
